STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale, held yesterday, as follows :-Owing no doubt to our sale day falling on the first day of the Carterton show, entries did not come forward up to advertised numbers. The -entry in sheep was confined to dry ewes, which met with ,a ready sale. In cattle, the chUtf" entry comprised a nice line of 3 year bullocks, which met with good competition. * We quote—Fat ewes 19s 9d to 20s, dry ewes in wool 163 9d, 2£-year and 3year steers £5 7s to £5 10s, 2-year steers £3 2s 6d to £3 1%, fat cows £4 125 6d,'forward empty heifers £3 19s 6d, cows just calved £4 10s. A really fine line of fat bullocks made £7 15s. Toe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on yesterday's stock sale:—We had a fair average yarding embracing sheep of ali classes. Bidding was spirited for all lots submitted, a firm tone pievailing throughout, and a clearance being effected. We had rather a small entry in cattle, beirg mostly stores with a few light teer. All were cleared under the hammer. Best fat wethers and ewes made £1 5s 6d, medium 21s, best ewes and lambs 255, others 20n to 22s 6d, empty ewes 16s to 17s, small wethers in wool 17s, best, shorn wethers 15s 6d, light fat cows £4, 2-year steers 60s to 755, mixed yearlings 40s, calves 13s to 20s, weaner pigs 10s to 12s.
