ANOTHER STRIKE THREATENED. Received November 18, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, November 18. Trouble ia brewing in the timber trade. Sawmill hands threaten drastic action unless their demands for higher wages are conceded. THE HOTEL METROPOLE TRAGEDY. EXPLANATION OF CAUSEReceived November 19, 1 a.m. SYDNEY, November 18. It is understood that Lister King and hip wife came to Sydney for the purpose of allowing Mrs King, who had an old standing complaint, to enter a private hospital. Failing any clue it is now suggested as a possible solution of the mystery that the thought of this trouble and the attendant expense preying on the minds of both led to the tragedy. Early in the day Mrs King had arranged to meet her sister, and when found dead was fully dressed in the clothes in which she usually went out.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES. PRICES WELL MAINTAINED. Received November IU, 12.38 a.m. SYDNEY, November 18. At the wool sales prices for best sorts were well maintained. Crossbreds and inferior were again weaker.
