O'NEILLS' BUCK-JUMPERS.

The O'Ne'U Bros', buck-jumping combination commenced their return Mastevton season between the Waipoua bridges last evening, and notwithstanding {he inclemency of the weather there was a very good attendance. When the rain came on, however, ,some little discomfort was caused to patrons owing to there being no over-head covering to the tent. Tne entertainment was much on the same lines as that given on the occasion of the last visit, and met with general approbation. Some vigorous buck-jumpers were brought into the ring, and the audience was treated to soni3 clever riding. The management offered £1 to any person who could keep his seat on any of .the horses for a minute. Three horsemen essayed the feat, but only one succeeded, and he was handed the sum offered. "Maori Jack" was a buck-jumper out of the ordinary, and nobody took advantage of the ringmaster's offer to give £1 to any person who could ride the horse for ten seconds. Sydney O'Neill, however, mounted the horse, and succeeded in keeping Lis seat. The other outstanding features of the show ♦were some clever tricks by Mr E. O'Neill's pony "Sandow"; lassooing and rope manipulating by "Mexican Bill," and some high jumping by two horses, one of which cleared sft 11 in. The entertainment will be repeated this ■ evening, when one of the features will be the competition among local riders for a silver cup presented by Mr J. O'Meara.
