NEW RADIUM "MINE."
RICH DEPOSITS DISCOVERED IN THE ALPS. Professor Joly, the well-knoton geologist, claims to have discovered a veritable radium "mine" in the Alps, says the Geneva correspondent of a London paper. He recently concluded careful geological examinations of the stones collected during the excavation of the «iaiplon Tunnel, and reports that heXfound richer traces of radium than exist anywhere else in Europe. Professor Joly believes that the large radium deposit in this portion of the Alps was responsible for the abnormal heat experienced by the workmen during the excavation of the tunnel. He declares that the scientific theories concerning the world's supply of radium are incorrect, and that continued researches will result in further.discoveries.
