They say that if a boarding-house wants a better supply of water for the bath it comas j under the Inspector of Nuisances' department. Well, what if it does? They say that one councillor evidently thinks water for a bath comes •under the heading of supply of water for irrigation! Well, what if he does? They say people must be limited in the water supply for gar- . dens, because it will be wanted for a public bath—some day! Well, what if they must? They say that the water-meter recommendations of the 1 Works Committee should be adopted before April the fir*t. Well, what if they should? They say that the :straih of passing resolutions and not •carryinr them into effect is so trying that 10! Council can't tackle the drainage- evil. Well, what if they They say the borough overdraft is not lax like the Works Committee, but has progressed to £7,000. Well, what if it has? They say that ' ' the ratepayers have got notice to pay interest rates on loan money whilst .between £3,000 and £4,000 of it is /lying idle. Well, what if they have? They say that»if there were twelve instead of nine they could *do more—talking. Well, what if ;they could?—l am, etc., DOUBTFUL.
