Mr Justice Grantham, at the Sussex Assizes, sentenced Ferrari, alias Miller, a partner with Charles Smith, and Chicago May, of Guerin case fame, to five years' penal servitude, on a charge of burglary. Thereafter they will be deported to Italy. Smith used Ferrari's revolver to Ghoot Guerin. an escapee from the French penal settlement at Devil's Island, where he had been sent to serve a sentence of ten years' imprisonment for forgery, was shot and lamed in London in June last by Charles Smith and a woman known as Chicago May).
