FASTING CRAZE SPREADS,

WANGANUI, November 12. The fasting cure stilf meets with favour here, a well-known resident having just completed twenty-one days. Another, a native weighing over 22 stone, who was in a very bad way from dropsy and other complications, is in his twenty-seventh day, and is very much improved in health. A third is in his forty-eighth day. The latter had light refreshment on the forty-third day, but is now continuing the fast, and says he is much improved in health.
A FERKO CONCRETE WHARF. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 12. The Wellington Harbour Board has accepted the tender of John McLetn and Sons for a new ferro concrete wharf at Clyde Quay. The price is about £30,000. PRIMITIVE METHODIST SYNOD. REQUEST FOR UNION. By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, November 12. The Primitive Methodist Synod has resolved that the Otago and Southland District Synod is of opinion that the time is now opportune for reconsidering the question of the Methodist Union in New Zealand, and respectfully and unanimously requests the conference of 1908 to make the necessary arrangements for having the question submitted to ministers for approval or otherwise. BODY FOUND IN A CREEK. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 12. The body of a middle-aged man was found floating in a creek at Burwood this evening. The deceased's watch bore the inscription A. Eckland, Methven.
