PERSONAL.
Miss Brown is relieving Miss Cartwright as teacher at the Martinborough School. In view of his trip to England, Mr A. D. McLeod, chairman of the Featherston County Council, intends to resign his position as councillor :J for the Pahaoa Riding. Mr F. F. Calton, of Newman who his been on a trip to England,, returned home last week. Mr Gilbert Vere Bogle is the Victoria College candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship for New Zealand this year. Mr Bogle, who is attached to the staff of the Wellington College, is a fine all-round athlete and an advanced scholar. Mr J. Collinson, of Hamua, who was thrown out of his trap on the Konini Road, on Tuesday, November sth, and sustained severe injuries, died on Monday night. Mr A. Ure has been appointed ranger to the Eketahuna County Council.
Mr F. J. Macmahon, touring manager for Messrs Macmahon's Pictures illustrating the story of Rolf Boldrewood's famous story "Robbery Under Arms," arrived in Masterton last evening to make arrangement's for their production at an early date. Mr Coleman Phillips, of Carterton, will leave shortly on a visit to Sydney.
