The following are the latest market quotations:—Sheep, Canterbury, light and medium, unchanged; heavy, 3fd; North Island, B[|d; best brands, 3 13-16 d. Lamb, unchanged. 4, ox fores, 29-16 d. New Zea-November-January shipment, £2B 10s. Rabbits are firm, and prices are unchanged. The. increasing supplies from all sources are depressing the market. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable message from the High Commissioner, dated London, November 9th: —The mutton market is steady. Shipments now arriving are very small. Canterbury brands are quoted at 3|d, and North Island at 3|d for light weights, 3gd heavy weights. The lamb market is slightly weaker, with less demand. New Zealand stocks on hand are light. Canterbury brands are quoted at s£d, and other than Canterbury 5d per lb. The beef market is steady. The demand is chiefly for forequarters. The average prices are 3£d and 2|d per lb for hind and fore quarters respectively. The butter market is steady, but without animation. The average price realised throughout the week is 122s per cwt for choicest New Zealand brands, and stocks are almost exhausted. Danish butter is quoted at 126.3, Siberian 112s, and Argentine 120s per cwt. The cheese market is quiet No alteration in prices to report. The hemp market is quiet, with a moderate enquiry at rates cabled last week. New Zealand long-berried wheat is quoted at 42s 6d, and shortr j berried at 4ls 6d per 4961b, ex gran- j ary. Market quiet, but steady, j Oat transactions are light. New Zealand sparrowbills are quoted at 6d per 3841b5, and Danish at 21s fid per 3201b5. New Zealand beans, f.a.q, new crop, are quoted at 33s per 5041b5. Grain prices are nominal. The cocksfoot market is firm, but the demand is only moderate, bright 171b dressed s?ed is quoted at 74s per cwt.
