SUCHOU-NINGPO RAILWAY.
TROUBLE OVER A CONCESSION. THREAT TO BOYCOTT BRITISH PIECE GOODS. Received November 11 10.25 p.m. LONDON, November 11. Reuter's Shanghai correspondent states that after granting a British corporation a concession to build the Suchou-Ningpo railway, the Chinese Government have a provincial administration "to build the line. Recognising that it had committed a breach of treaty rights, the Central Government" dissented and reopened negotiations with theßritish corporation, but the provincial authorities refused to obey. The Chinese merchants at Shanghai offer to subscribe money to build the railway. The populace threaten to boycott British piece goods.
