STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., held their horse sale at the Stout Street stables, Wellington, on Wednesday, November 6th, when upwards of thirty horses were submitted. There was a good attendance of buyers, but only a few horses changed hands under the hammer. Light draughts sold at £33 ss; pair of buggy horses, £33; hacks to £l3 15s; four-year express mare, £23 10s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —We held our Eketahuna sale on Friday. More sheep came forward than were advertised. Bidding was brisk under the hammer, and every head was sold. We quote —Ewes with lambs at foot to 25s 2d; ewe hoggets, 18s to £1 Is 2d; wether hoggets, 18s lOd to 20s; mixed hoggets, 16s 9d to 17s 7d; cull hoggets, to 14s 8cl; shorn hoggets to 14s 4d. Cattle—3 year steers £4 10s; springing cows, aged, £3 10s; 16 months steers, £2 ss; yearling heifers, 265; yearling steers, 41s; tfow and pigs, £3 ss; slips to 17s 6d; dogs to 245. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a private sale on account of Mr A. Smith, of Rongokokalto, on Thursday, Novemher 7th. Bidding was brisk right through the sale. They quote—Ewes arid lambs 27s Id; cows averaged £5-Is; bull, £3; horses, £25 ss; sow in pig, £2 6s; slips, 23s to 24a, geese, 5s per pair; dogs to £5 10s; traps to £l7; harness and sundries brought good values.
