Tallow—Stocks", 15,614 casks; imports, 4,988 casus; deliveries;' 9,663 -casks. Rabbits—Firm, with strong demand, especially for young. The Frozen Meat Trade Association's Smithfield market quotations for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of not less than 100 carcases of mutr ton or lamb, or 25-carcases of beef of fair average quality. These quotations are not for seleced lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now on the market. Canterbury and South Island are unchanged. North Island, 3£d for best brands and 3|d for other sorts. The quotations for lamb are unchanged. New Zealand beef—Ox fores, 180 to 2201b5,' unchanged; ox hinds, 180 to 2201b5, 3£d; River Plate sheep heavy, unchanged; light, 3Jd; ox fores, unchanged; hinds, 3 5-16 d. Hides—Neglected. The bulk ofer r ing was withdrawn. Nominal pr C3S are:—Queensland, heavy ox, s|d, light and low, s|d; Sydney, heavy ox 5Jd, light and cow, s&d. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner cables, under date, November 2nd, as follows: «* The mutton market is quiet; Canterbury light weights 33d, Nurth Island 3£d; heavy weights, Canterbury 3Jd, North Island 3gd. The lamb market is steady, with very good demand. Canterbury is 5Jd, other than Canterbury 5Jd. The beef market is quiet. New Zealand hindquarters are 3Jd, forequarters 2Jd. Supplies of River Plate are heavy. v The butter market is firm, owing to reduced supplies. The high prices ruling restrict business and encourage sales of substitutes. This season's New Zealand manufacture is 1235; Danish 1295, Siberian 113s, Argentine 120s. The cheese market is quiet, but steady. Canadian * coloured makes, 635, white 625. The hemp market is somewhat steadier; but: the demand is principally speculative. Good fair grade on ..spot is £29, fair £27 10s, fair current Manila £29, March shipments, good fair grade £27 10s, fair £2G 10s; fair current Manila is £29. Bradford tops are quoted as follows:—36's, low crossbreds, ls3|d; 40's, low crossbreds, ls4d; 44's, medium crossbreds, Is sd; 50's, halfbreds, Is 101 d; 56's quarterbreds, 2s Id; 60's, merinos, 2s 4d.
