SOCIAL AT WAIHOKI.
From a Correspondent. Miss Harvey, head teacher at the Waterfalls School, wa3 tendered a farewell social on Friday evening by the settlers of the Waterfalls and Waihoki districts The function took place at the residence of Mr A. Murray, Waihoki. Tea was provided Jav a committee of ladies, and was «Jueh appreciated. During the course of the evening speeches were delivered by Messrs Murray and Holbrook. Both speakers referred in eulogistic terms to Miss Harvey's m?ny qualities, and to the high esteem in which she was held by the settlers. On behalf of the scholars Master Huia Holbrook presented Miss Harvey with a handsome silver mounted comb and brush as a mark of esteem. Musical items were rendered by Messrs Green, Boosby, Parsonson, Holbrook, McAlister, Murray, Peggram, and Mesdames Robbie, Smith and Boosby. At the conclusion of the gathering a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr and Mrs Murray, who were to a large extent responsible for the success of the function.
