Mrand Mrs J. Longstaff, late of Devonshire House, Masterton, who purpose touring New ; Zealand and afterwards England and Scotland, were on : Wednesday presented! tiyax large number of friends at Devonshire , House" .yith handsome travellingrugs. ' In making the presentation* Mr C. J. Mackellar referred to the high esteem Mr and Mrs Longstaff were 1 held and wished them, on behalf of their friends in Masterton, a pleasant holiday and a safe return. Miss Dixon 'and others also referred in eulogistic terms to the sterling qualities possessed by Mr and Mrs Lon,?- _ stafL The gifts were suitably ac-r knowledged. c / Mr W. I. Husband, of Pahiatua, left yesterday, on an extended holiday to Christchurch. Mr J. R. Nicol, auctioneer, left Masterton, yesterday afternoon,, for Christchurch, to be present; at tho Cup meeting.
