Although weather conditions in South Australia have been more propitious than in New South Wales and Victoria estimates of the harvest have recently been reduced. The South Australian Registrar now estimates the probable yield at about seven bushels per acre, making a crop of about 14,000,000 bushels, while mcra optimistic expectations do not exceed an average of eight bushels per acre.
