REFORM OF THE HOUSE OF LORDS
UNLIMITED VETO MUST BE REMOVED. Received October 30, 10.38 p.m. LONDON, October 30. The Hon. H. H. Asquith, Chancellor of the Exchequer, in a speech at Newport, said that he was prepared to give open-minded and fair consideration to any practicable scheme for reforming the House of Lords, but the power of unlimited veto must be first removed.
