MASTERTON CRICKET COUNCIL.
I ♦_ ANNUAL MEETING. The second annual meeting of the Masterton Cricket Council was held in Messrs W. B. Chennells and Co's. office, last evening. There were present:—Messrs W. H. L. Galwey (chairman), A. Esson, C. J. Mackellar, T. Prow. D. E. Parton (Masterton Club), E. Collinge, F. P. Welch (Carlton), H. Hall and Wilson (W.F.C.A.) The balance-sheet, showing a ! credit balance of £3 15s, was read and adopted. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow: Chairman, Mr W. H. L. Gaiwey (re-elected); Secretary and Treasurer, Mr P. P. Welch (re-elected); Auditor, Mr C. Perry (re-elected); Ground Committee, Messrs Collinge, Mackellar and F. P. Welch. It was resolved that the ground fee for senior clubs playing on the Park Oval be 30s each, and junior clubs be allotted practice wickets on the Oval free of charge. On the motion of Mr Mackellar, seconded by Mr Galwey, it was decided to recommend to the Thursday Association that any club in arrears with its subscription to the Council be debarred from playing in championship matches until such arrears are paid. It was also decided to recommend the Ground Committee to allot separate wickets for Thursday and Saturday cricket. A notification was received from the Borough Council stating that the charge for the use of the Oval would be the same as last year, viz., £l2 10s. The terms were accepted. The question of amending the rules in order to allow the Carlton Club to play Saturday cricket was held over until Tuesday next, in order to permit of the necessary formal notices of motion being given.
