A LONDON CONGRESS. Received October 29, 8.25 a.m. LONDON, October 28. The annual report submitted to the Congress of National Free Labour Associations in London claims a membership of 680,000. It declares that the associations will be able to checkmate the high tide of trade union Socialism, which was recruited by boycotting, terrorism, and blackmail. The Spectator suggests that with a view to unitedly fignting Socialism, Freetraders and Tariffites should agree to submit their differences to a Royal Commission. The Leicester Liberal Association has resolved to combat the Socialist party. REPEAL OF TRADES DISPUTES ACT. Received October 29, 10.42 p.m. LONDON, October 29. The Congress passed a resolution in favour of the repeal of the Trades Disputes Act and protested against an organised labour agitation claiming lo represent all the wage earners.
