SALVATION ARMY.
SELF-DENIAL RESULTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, October-29. Particulars are now to hand of the Salvation Army's self-denial week collections throughout Australasia. They show that New Zealand is well ahead, as she was last year, of any of the States of the Commonwealth. The highest total in Australia was gathered in New South Wales, namely, £6,300, which despite the greater population, falls short by £4,591 lbs of the subscriptions received in the dominion. The following statement, which is approximately correct, shows the results of the week in Australasia for this year and last year:—
