WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co,, Ltd., report ria follows regarding Friday's sale:— "Wo offered 2,000 skins, 1,000 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers. No wool was offered, as all bale wool is being held over for the first wool sale of the reason-to be held on November 15th. Skins—Were firm at last sale prices We -quote—Merinos 7d to BfJ, fine crossbreds BJd to 9Jd, coarse crossbreds 8d to Bfd, dead skins 6d to dead hogguts 6|d to 7d," dry pelts 5d to 6Jd, green skins 5s to 7s ;*;d. Tallow—Firm. Parcels in shipping* order, £26; tins, £l7 to £23; rough fat, £l6 10s. Horsehair—ls to is 4d per lb. Horns—6s to 20s per 100. Oowtails—ls to Is 8d per dozen. Hides—Firm, no change to record. Calfskins, Id easier. We quote—Ox hides, extra heavy, 6ftd to (i-Jd, oxhides, GOlbs to 701bs, s|d to O.ld; ox hides 50lbs to K9lbs 5d to 5 id; cow hides, 4|d to 4|d; Calf skins, best, 6d; calf skins, cut and flippy, 3d to 4d; hides, cut and slippy, 2|d to B|d; stag hides, 3d to 02d; bull hides, 2Jd to 3&d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows—We offered a few odd bales nix! bags of wool', 1,100 sheepskins, r.nd 560 hides and calfskins to a full attendance of buyers. The oddments of wool were not eagerly competed . for; values were par to |d lower as compared with last sale. Sheepskins sold readily at quite up to last wile's values, excepting badly damaged and inferior lots, which- were iirvegular. Good, well-saved, fine ■ crossbreds fetched up to 9d, coarse wools up to BJd. Green skins sold well. IWe got up to 9s for good heavy butchers' lines. Hides—There Was good competition and prices were well ud to late rates for good-con-difioned hide. Calfskins were rather easier at about Jd below last sale's prices. Wool Medium crutchings, 5d to Sid; inferior, to 3id; dead ' wool, 6fd to Sheepskins— Merino inferior. 6tl toGfd; half bred and fine crossbred, B|d to 9d; coarse crossbred, 7£d to 8d; dead, 6d to ri j Tiki; broken and inferior, 4dtosJd; " green skins, 5s to 9s each; green lambskins, 9d to Is.
