Mrs Meacbean, of Manga-atua Valley is seriously ill. Dalrymple, of Featherston, who intend to,take up their residence in Masterton, were entertain e J at a farewell social, ou Friday night, by the congregation of St. John'KXhurch, Featherston. Webb, champion sculler of the world, is on a visit to his brother, Mr J. Webb, schoolmaster, at Pahiatua. Very little hone is entertained for the recovery of Guard Allen, of the Wellington-Napier mail train, who is lying ill in the Wellington Hospital. Mr F. Barratt, of Levin, who was some months ago by an exacetylene gas, is still lying HUgPli the Wellington Hospital, unable to speak, paralysed in the right arm, and in a very low condition. He i 3 sensible, recognises everybody who goes to see him, though dimly, and he nods or shakes his head in answer to questions. It is a pitiable case, and the wonder is that he has borne all without complaint, and lay so quiet for so long a time. It was on June 24th that he met with the accident, and it is now close upon eighteen weeks that he has been lying apparently between life and death.
