PERSONAL.
Mr C.-Waller, of Maryborough, who is leaving the district to follow farming pursuits in Levin, was presented by a number of residents of Martinborough, on Monday evening last,, with a handsome clock as a mark of esteem. Mrs Waller was preser.tad with a sliver-mounted comb and brush and a silver-mounted trinket case. Mr H. Willis, an old setter of Featherston, and his family have taken up their residence in Dannevirke. At Tablelands, on Wednesday last, Miss Eva Soughton, daughter of Mrs J. Saunders, of Tablelands, was married to Mr Kinsella. At Featherston, on Wednesday last, Miss B. Hodder was married to Mr L. Foster. Mr Peter Madsen, an old resident of Mangatainoka, died in the Pahiatua Hospital on Tuesday last. The deceased, who was highly respected, was 62 years of age, Mr H. D. Bedford, who represented Dunedin in the last Parliament, was married at Dunedin, yesterday, to Mis 3 Brown, daughter of an exmayor of Maori Hill. Mr F. Tilyard has been appointed to fill the vacancy on the directorate of the Tawaha Co-operative Dairy Company Ltd., caused by the rejignation of Mr W. J. Parker, who has left the district to take up his residence in Wellington.
