CARTERTON.
From Our Own Corrrespondent. Wednesday. The Rev. H. Bull, secretary to the Church Building and Loan Fund, arrived in Carterton by this morning's express, from Wellington, and in the afternoon met the Trustees of the local Methodist Church and inspected the section of land upon which it is proposed to erect a parsonage. At the fortnightly meeting of the Rechabite Lodge 1.0. R. held on Monday night, one member was reported to be on the sick iist. It was decided to strike a levy on each member towards the expenses of entertaininmg the delegates at the next annual conference to be held at Masterton. A daughter of Mr McDonald, of this town, is lying dangerously ill. , The anniversary social of the Dalefield Methodist Church was held in the Dalefield Public Hall, last evening. The Rev. W. J. Elliott was in the chair. The report on the year's working, which was submitted by Mr J. Gordon, showed the church to be in a very satisfactory position. The Revs. Elliott and C. Blair gave addresses and musical items were contributed by visitors from Carterton.
