MASTERTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Masterton Lawn Tennis Club was held on the grounds last evening. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, November 2nd, weather permitting. , Messrs C. C. Cox, A. R. Sclanders and N. D. Buntina were appointed to act as a match, handicapping, and ground committee for the current year. The ladder system of competitions was-discussed, and it was resolved that it be an instruction to the match committee to classify the players and frame the ladder so that it shall be available for the opening day. A handicap singles competition will also be entered upon right away. The question of connecting the club house with the Telephone Exchange was also dealt with, and it was resolved to have an instrument installed forthwith. Matters in reference to the grounds were left in the hands of the ground committee with power to act, and after deciding to meet again on Friday, November Ist, the meeting adjourned.
