STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We held a sale in ojr Taratahi yards on Monday. The entry of both sheep and cattle was good. Demand for sheep was keen, and grown cattle were also enquired for. A fair number of yearling heifers were yarded, but enquiry for this class of cattle was not bright. We sold for Mr J. F. Hannah, who has lately disposed of his property, 160 ewes with 90 per cent, lambs, at at foot at 23s lid, hegjets 17s 2d. On account of other clients the following prices were realised:—Fat ewes 23s 2d, medium 2-year steers £3 ss, dairy cows from £3 to £5, e;npty cows (poor sorts) 40s. We held a successful clearing sale on Tuesday on accounts of Messrs J. H. Taplin and Sons, at their homestead, East Taratahi. The day turned out fine, and a good number of buyers were present. The sheep and cattle brotrght under the hammer were an-exceptionally fine lot, and credit isdue to the owners for the way the stock cam 3on the market. As Messrs Taplin and Sons had sold their j property everything offered was for unreserved sale, and bidding accordingly was spirited. The sheep were an especially good lot, the ewes with lambs at foot being in excellent condition and heavily clad. The hoggets i were a very even line, were .well 'grown and in the pink of condition. Bidding right through for the sheep was most spirited, and high prices were realised. F.m. ewes with 100 per cent, lambs at foot 30s, ewes (4-tooth to f.i'.m.) with 92 per cent, lambs 30s 7d, wether hoggets 20s 4d, ewe hoggets 21s 6d, aged Romney rams 265. Dairy cows also elicited keen competition and the condition of the cattle was all through satisfactory. Cows lately calved sold i.t from £4 to £6 9s, and a number of tho cows had been in milk since September, and these also sold well bringing from £4 to £5 10s, 2 and 3year steers £5 3s, yearlings (mixed sexes) 325. A large catalogue of implements and sundries was also gone through, and everything offered brought satisfactory figures.
