NEW ZEALAND CRICKET COUNCIL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CIIRISTCHURCH, October 20. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council was held last night. The annual report stated that the tour of the Mai-ytebone Cricket Club team had resulted in a loss to the Council of approximately £950, but with the support of the affiliated associations £ll the liabilities were met, and 12s 7d in the £ had been refunded to the guarantors. The result of the tour emphasised the importancs of establishing a reserve fund to meet the losses in future tours. New Zealand cricket had shown a very decided improvement since the event of .Lord Hawke's team three years ago, and the performances of many of the New Zealand players in the matches against the Marylebone team were a credit not only to themselves but also to the cricket of New Zealand. The following officers were elected for the enduing year:—President, President of West Coast Cricket Association; Vice-Presidents, Presidents of the various Associations; Hon. Secretary, Mr F. 0. Raphael, Hon. Treasurer, Mr R. Vincent. _ A sub-committee was set up to draw up a proposed definition of residential qualification for interprovincial matches.
A committee was also set up to report on the advisability of playing a match in February next between the then holders of the Plunket Shield and the rest of New Zealand, the match to.be played. on the ground of the Association which holds the Shield.
