DEMORALISATION ON WALL STREET. FRENZIED SELL T NG. Received October 18, 8.3 a.m. NEW. YORK, Octoher 17. Demoralisation on Wall Street, accompanied .by frenzied selling, nearly precipitated a panic. Mr Pierpont "Morgan's effort to strengthen the market was apparently ineffective. '.The losses ranged from three to seven points on the stocks affected. The markets are still unsettled. LONDON, October 17. ."' 'The market for American stocks is dull, and quotations*lower.
