DUTY ON FLOUR AND WHEAT.

By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, October 16. At to-day's meeting of tiie Executive of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union there was a lengthy discussion on the Government's proposal to take off the duty on wheat as soon as flour reached £ll per ton. It was decided to ask the Premier to forward as early as possible copies of the proposed legislation dealing with duties on imported Hour and wheat. The following motion was carried: "That this meeting urges upon the Premier the inadvisability of interfering with wheat and flour duties."
