FRANCO-BRITISH EXHIBITION.
Received October 11, 10.55 p.m. LONDON, October 11. In connection with the visit of the members of the Paris Municipality to London, His Majesty King E,dward expressed a wish that the City of Paris should participate in the Franco - British Exhibition. The Municipality thereupon hastened to send representatives to London to ascertain the best methods of worthily responding to the wish. ,
NEW STEAMER LAUNCHED. Received October 11, 10.55 p.m. LONDON, October 11. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's steamer Kia Ora has been launched at Belfast.
SUBMARINES. Received October 12, 12.36 a.m. PARIS, October 11. Ten submarines are being built at Rochefort, Toulon and Cherbourg.
OPPRESSION AND FAMINE. Received October 12, 12.37 a.m. CONSTANTINOPLE, October 11. Owing to Turkish oppression and famine 300,000 Armenians have applied for passports to settle in Caucasus.
