MASTERTON S.M. COURT.
Mr W. P. James, S.M., held a civil sitting of the Masterton Magistrate's Court, yesterday morning. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in each of the following debit cases:—Thos. Ridgway v. Mrs E. Wrigley, .claim £2 9s, costs 12s; R. E. Howell and Co., Ltd., v. George J. Jackson claim £3, costs 10s; C. A. Pownall v. James Hodder, claim £5, costs 8s; J. C. Ewington v. Horace Reynolds, claim £2l 3s, costs £2 14s; R. E. Howell and Co., Ltd., v. H. T. Marsh, claim. 7s Id, costs ss; same v. Wm. Coburn, claim £1 7s 6d, costs ss; R. Hannah and Co., Ltd., v. W. Fox, claim £3 10s 4d, costs 10s; same v J. M. Millar, claim £5 9s 7d, costs £1 3s 6d; F. Staples v. Mrs John Dudley, claim £1 5s 4d, costs ss; Olds and Anderson v. H. Hurndall, claim £4 ss, costs 10s. In the judgment summons case of Bunny and Dolan v. George Jackson, a claim for £1 19s, there was no appearance of defendant, who was ordered to pay forthwith in default seven days' imprisonment; order v suspended for 14 days. In the case of Hans Peterson v. Harry Fawcett, a claim for £1 17s Bd, on a judgment summons, defendant was ordered to pay 10s per month, first payment to be made on November 10th. i The case of T. and W. Young v. Benjamin Brodie, a claim for £9B, was struck out, defendant to pay £1 Is costs. The case of H. G. Searancke v. the Kaituna Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., a claim for £lB 18s 9d, in connection with the supply of butter-fat, was concluded, plaintiff being non suited. Costs were fixed at £4 12s.
