ATTEMPT TO ROB A HANKER. EXCITING TIME ON A TRAIN. FOUR PEOPLE KILLED. Received October 10, 9.30 a.m. PETERSBURG, Oct. 9. Armed passengers travelling on the Dorpat-Walz railway tried to rob a banker who was carrying a large sum of money. The escorting gendarmes opened fire. One robber, tvo passengers, and one gendarme were killed, and the banker and a gendarme and several passengers wounded. The robbers jumped from the train and escaped moneyless.
