FIRE BRIGADES' AMENDMENT BILL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON. October 8. A conference of delegates from the various Fire Boards met here, to-day, to consider the Fire Brigades' Amendment Bill. The principal recommendations of the Conference, which will be embodied in a letter to the Attorney-General, are that there should be a larger contribution by the Government, and that several amendments should be made regarding the position of Fire Boards in respect 10 property, land, buildings, and plant belonging to the several local bodies. • The Conference, whoso"proceedings were conducted in camera, waited upon the Statute Revision Committee and submitted its views regarding the measure.
