MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
WORKS COMMITTEE. ' The Masterton Borough Works Committee met, last evening, there being: present—Cr J. H. Pauling ; . (Chairman), W. Morris, A. Haughty, W. Pragnell, J. Prentice, and the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine). It was resolved to recommend th 2 extension of a three-inch water main to Messrs Winter Bros.' house in High Street provided the necessary mams are in stock. The Committee again considered the question of the proposed swixmirig baths, and directed that the work of construction should be 1 ro- , ceeded with at the earliest opportunity to enable the baths to be opened, if possible, by Christmas. A petition was received from five residents asking for the extension of the water mains to Devon Street. The request was granted provided the residents would bear the cost of the work. A cornplajnt was made, by letter, as to an alleged nuisance on stable premises in Grey Street. It was stated at the meeting that the Sanitary Inspector had taken action in the matter, and the action of that officer was approved of.
