OBITUARY.

LORD BRAMPTON. Received October 7, 11 p.m. LONDON, October 7. The death has occurred of Lord Brampton; aetat 91. He was conscious till the end.

(Lord Henry Brampton (surname Hawkins) was born on September 14th, 1817. He was called to the Bar in 1843, was made Q.C. in 1858, and was Judge of the High Court from 1876 to 1899. He distinguished himself in many famous cases, notably in the trial at Bar of the Tichborne claimant. The deceased was made a peer on his retirement from the Bench.)
