LAND BALLOT AT EKETAHUNA.
By Telegraph—Press Association. EKETAHUNA, October 4. A ballot for five sections in the Hukanui Village Settlement, ranging from 26 to 37 acres each, and ten sections in Nireaha Village Settlement, ranging from 44 to 54 acres, was held by the Commissioner of Crown Lands to-day. The total applications were 1,424, from 181 applicants. The following were successful:— For Hukanui sections —T. O'Keefe, Palmerston North; J. T. Smith, Hukanui; P. Lawson, Maneamaire; I>. Myers, Palmerston North; W. Myers, Newton. For Nireaha sections—F. L. Wildmore, Feilcling; F. E. Petherick, Wellington; George Johnston, Wellington; P. Quinlan Nireaha; F. H. Dowden, Nireaha; Henry Fulton, Nireaha; C. E. Wildbore/ Pohangina; W. McDonald, Nireaha; J. H. Legrove, Nireaha; P. O'Neill, Newton.
