BIORAMA COMPANY.
The Salvation Army Biorama Company opened their return season in Masterton before a fairly large audience in the Town Hall last evening. The programme uf moving pictures was an excellent one, and, judging by the frequent applause, gave entire satisfaction to the audience. The films covered a variety of subjects calculated to interest and amuse those present. A splendid film was that entitled "Fox hunting in England." In this were shown all the features characteristic of a hunt, from the turning out of the hounds to their final return to the kennels. Another film of a rather sensational nature was that showing some incidents connected with the Russian Nihilists, and the manner in which they lemove high personages by means of bomb-shells. "Trapped by Pinicerton" was an exciting picture showing how some robbers were cleverly captured. An excellent film was that entitled "Curfew shall not ring to-night." A film with an interesting story running through it was one entitled "A wife's forgiveness." Among the humorous pictures which appealed mostly to the younger portion of the audience were: —"Anything for quietness," "The story of a mischievous baby," "School boys' pranks," "Village fire brigade," "The tomboys," and "John Smith, Esq." "A trip through the French Ardennes," and "How England obtains her ice supply" proved highly instructive films. The musical portion of the programme, which was greatly appreci • ated, consisted of a descriptive selection entitled "The chief's last call," executed with great taste by the Band, and two songs, "He Was Only a Private, That's All" and "Which Is the Way to Heaven?" sung very nicely by Lieut Stephens. The company will appear again this evening, when a complete change of programme is promised.
