A sensational development was associated with the betting market to-day, and amounted to the installation of Mooftan as favourite for the Epsom Handicap. In order to ensure Mooltan being started in that race the-ring, it is understood, made up a liberal bet for the horse' 1 ; owner, as Mooitan had not previously been in demand for the Epsom Handicap. The arrangement to run him is a good one for the members of the betting ring.
