(From Oar Own Correspondent.) Wednesday. The Kokotau stop bank is almost completed, and the work will be out of the contractors' hands in a day or two. ...... Twenty-two thousand bricks and two thousand drain pipes were manufactured at the local brick works during the month of Septem. ber. Eight thousand trout were liberated in the ■ Mangatarere Stream this morning. A meeting of the Carterton Library Committee was held last evening, when there was a good attendance of members. Votes of thanks were accorded to Messrs Booth and Buchanan for donations towards the Library funds. It was reported that four subscribers had joined during the month. The annual meeting of directors of the Wairarapa Brick, Tile and Drainpipe Company will beheld on the 17th inst. The year closed on September 30th, and the balance sheet, which is now being prepared, discloses a very satisfactory state of affairs. There was a fair attendance of members present at the fortnightly meeting of the Methodist Band of lUff held in the schoolroom last evening. Mr D. T. King and a good programme of songs and recitations were rendered by the members.
