THE AMERICA CUP.
NEW YORK, September 27. Mr Cornelius Vanderbilt, interviewed regarding Sir Thomas Lipton's America Cup challenge, declared that be favoured the largest boat permissible, remarking:—"Call the boat a freak, anything you like, but we cannot handicap ourselves, even if our boat is only fit for the junk heap the day after the race."
