"VAILE AND SONS' CATALOGUE."
A PEEP INTO THE PAGES. It must occur to the mind of every investor that a catalogue, which contains particulars of®"properties and businesses iot sale of a total of £1,500,000, is worthy of perusal. Such a catalogue is that issued by the well known Auckland firm; Messrs Samuel Vaile and Sons. The reputation enjoyed by the firm in question is, practically, colonial in character, but one scarcely realises the magnitude of their business and its wide ramifications without studying the catalogue issued by them. It is, almost, needless to remark that a firm of such standing is in a position to transact business satisfactorily for every class of client, from the runholdei with his many thousands down to the tradesman whose limited means will only allow him to invest in a business of moderate size. Glancing casually through,, the many pages, one reads particulars of investments of almost every kind, but from this remark it must not be supposed that the catalogue is not well arranged. On the contrary, it is excellently compiled, and an index enables the reader to turn with ease to any part he wishes to peruso. The number and variety of the properties, as has been remarked, is simply'surprising. For instance, one's eye falls upon details of a splendid stock station of 5,116 acres, which is fenced into 24 sub-divisions. Then in the Thames Gulf district there is a block of mineral and grazing country 10,500 acres in extent A cheap and handy little dairy farm of 150 acres should suit many a dairy farmer on the look-out for something of the kind. A snug little general store, at a price of £3OO, is exactly what is wanted by other clients. To the wealLhy man, a sound investment in city property of the value of ' £27,500 naturally apoeals, but it is useless to attempt to particularise. The catalogue should be obtained and perused by everyone seeking an investment. There is a good man contained in the publication and general statistical information of an interesting character is given. In conclusion, it should be remarked that Messrs Vaile and Sons employ a, large capital in the business of granting terms to purchasers and paying vendors out in cash.
