Federal Premier), made a statement in the House regarding the establishment of a High Commissioner's office in London. It was, he said, proposed to erect suitable offices at a cost of £60,C00. A leasehold site was under j offer, belonging to the London County ! Council, and situated in the Strand. The Opposition are sceptical about a six-story building, with a 200 ft frontage, being erected at the price. It is believed the cost will be more like a quarter of a million. Mr Watson thought the High Comissioner should be appointed before Parliament dealt with the question of a building. An initial vote for the purpose of acquiring a site was passed.
