Dusky Morn and Solus sprinted a half-mile in 53sec, similar time being recorded by Explode and Mont Pelier. In a gallop Yeulba covered a mile in lmin 51Jsec. Downfall, with Daisy Paul as companion, ran a mile. The former galloped nicely, and drew away from Daisy Paul, but the latter cut off some lengths at the bend into the straight, finishing slightly ahead of the colt in lmin 49sec. Finery slipped over half a mile in 51sec. Sardonyx jumped the hurdles well. Wairarapa, Sylvan Park and King's Birthday ran a mile together, the lattsr having a bit the best of the finish, the time being lmin 50sec. Fishermaid beat St. Bill and Bobricoff over six furlongs, cut out in lmin 21 4-sec. Idolatress, Miss Vera, Belario, Yosami, Ancyle, Signor, Maniapoto, Mulga Bill and several others did serviceable work.
