A PROGRESSIVE BUSINESS.
MR J. SCOTT. It is just about twelve months ago since Mr J. Scott started business in Masterton as watchmaker ana jeweller. During that time he has by enterprise and a keen appreciation of the wants of patrons established a connection in both town and country that does him infinite credit. The watchword of the proprietor has always been "progress on business lines," and this has been the secret of his success. The stock has gradually been increased from time to time with the best of assorted goods from the Home markets, and during the next few months further up-to-date stocks are to arrive. At the present time the shop is replete with beautiful articles suitable for presentation, and the person would be hard indeed to please who could not make a satisfactory selection from the array shown. In the repair department the wants of clients are attended to promptly and efficiently. A trial is 'solicited, and satisfaction guaranteed. Special attention is paid to the wants of country clients, t,nd all orders forwarded will receive the best of attention.

The results of this machine are most beautiful, and its repertoire is the most varied and extensive known to the trade. Amongst the records it includes such gems as lifelike productions by Madame Melba, Adelina Patti, Sarah Bernhardt, His Grace the Archbishop of Westminster, M. Kubelik (violinist), Ada Cross ley and Caruso, and the whole score for the sacred oratorios, "The Messiah," "Elijah," and the opera "II Trova--1 tore," and last but not least the "Gregorian High Mass Chants." This list of records of the Gregorian Mass were executed in St. Peter's Church, during the Pontificate of Pius X. P.M. by a chorus of 1,200 voices on the Centenary of St. Gregorius Magnus, on the 11th of April, 1904. These records belong to the Roman School and were executed under the direction of Monsieur Rella, leader of the Gregorian Chant in the Sistine Chapel. Messrs Dwyer and Co., of the Central Garage, Masterton, have one of these new and wonderful machines just opened, and notify that to-night they will give a free open-air concert from their Garage in Queen Street. The concert commences at 7.30 sharp and will continue till 8.30. All interested are cordially invited.
