THE PRICE OF FLOUR.

ADVANCE OF TEN SHILLINGS

By Telegraph—Press Association

CHRISTCHURCH, September 20

The New Zealand Flourmillers' Association announces an advance in the price of flour of 10s per ton as from to-day. The present prices are: —Sacks £lO 10s, bags £ll, 501b bags £ll ss, 251b bags £ll 10s. The reason given for tie advance is*that with wheat selling at current quotations, it is impossible to manufacture flour at the old prices. Millers assert that the prices ruling lately have been from 20s to 30s per ton below what would yield them a fair margin of profit, and that they were enabled to carry on only because they had secured supplies of wheat when prices were considerably below the present rates.
