CARGO BROACHING.

DUNEDIN, September 19,
For broaching cargo James Thompson and George Erdman were this morning sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Accused were employed on the steamer Hampton at Dunedin wharf. During lunch-time the chief officer heard a noise like the breaking of timber in the hold, and on going there found accused with a billhook. A search lc-d to the discovery that several cases had been pillaged, and a quantity of boots secreted in another part of the hold.
