BULLS, September 18. The weather was fine for the first -day[of the Rangitikei Jockey Club's meeting. The attendance was above the average. The going was holding. The amount put through the totalisator was £6,214, as against £5,610 on the first day at the last spring meeting. Results: — Flying.—The Stake 1, St. Claimer 2, Linkless 3. Scratched—Toa Tuhi, Lass o' Gowrie. Won easily. Time, lmin 21 2-ssec. Dividend, £2 ss. Wiliowbank Steeplechase.— Pilot 1, Kuranui 2, Morpeth 3. Scratched —Oryx. Won , all the way by two lengths. Time, smin 3 2-ssec. Dividends, £5 Is and £1 14s. Pukehou Hack Hurdles.—Papareahi 1, Lerida 2, Moeraki 3. Scratched—Kaipetipeti, St. Amelia. Mauri ran off when leading. Won by a length. No time taken. Dividends, £3 14s and £3 9s. Maiden Flat.—Musketry 1, Dusty Morn 2, Zoraida 3. Scratched— Wonderbohm, Commander, Yosami, Speciosa, Akarongi, Nordoff, Neke Ata, King Post, Thera, Make. Spring Handicap.— Rosegrove 1, Mataari 2, St. Joe 3. Scratched— The Stake. A splendid race. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 2rmn 4 l-ssec. Dividends, £4 and £1 Is. Rangitoto Hack.— Hiro 1, Lady Disdain 2, Wairarapa 3. Scratched —Clem, Tangaroa, Signor, Catseye, Killarney, Sylvan Park, Mt. Cook. Won by a length. Time, lmin 46 4-ssec. Dividends, £6 and £2 7s. The Stewards adjourned an enquiry till Saturday into alleged suspicious running in the Flying Handicap.
