STANDARD OIL COMPANY.

The Government are trying to annul the charter of the Standard Oil Company at New Jersey, which holds 9,990 out of the 10,000 outstanding shares. The Standard Oil' Company at In diana was recently fined 29,000,000 dollars, and yesterday, before the Federal Court, the New York Company's assistant comptroller stated tha Atne gross assets of the Standard Oil Company at New Jersey had increased from 26,791,000 dollars in 1899 to 371,664,000 dollars in 1906. During the same neriod the total profits had aggregated 490,360,000 dollars, oaying 308,359,000 dollais in dividends.
