THE MONOWAI.
WHEN SHE WAS SIGHTED. Received September 16, 10.35 a.m. SYDNEY, September 16. It was at 4.20 on the afternoon of the 12th that the Mokoia sighted the Monowai. The first officer (Mr Brown) and the fifth engineer (Mr M'Convilie) were the two who undertook the perilous task of attaching hawsers? to the rudder. Received September 17, 12.35 a.m. SYDNEY, September 16. The Monowai has been docked. There is a scarf. break in the rudder head well down in the trunk.
