MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
GENERAL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs J. D. Cruickshank, (chairman), W. Cooper, F. C. Lewis, W. 11. Buick, D. Cas:lberg, 0. C. Cooper, R. J. Dagg, E. Harper, R. Johnstone, T. P. Lett, W. McKenzie, J. Morris, H. Morrison, A. J. Percy, J. P Perry, W. Perry, A. G. Pilmer, B. Rayner, G. Shaw, J. Strang, and W. D. Watson. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs G. C. Summerell and J. B. Moodie. The Finance Committee reported thet Mr G. C. Summereil had been elected® chairman for the erisuiig year. The financial prosition was reported as follows Dr. balance at June 30tb, £B3O 16s 2d; expenditure to date, £97 5s 4d; receipts to chte £350 lis 7d; leas cheques outstanding, £7B 12s 7d; leaving a cr. balance at date of £498 17s 4d. Accounts amounting to £209 5s lOd were passed for payment. The report was adopted. The Ground Committee recommsnded that an account for £2 8s 3d from W. Davidson, for work done on the showgrounds, be passed for payment; that the Coursing Club's property may be removed from the Showgrounds upon the Club- paying its arrears in rent, the Association to take possession of the properly and realise on the same if the rent is not paid on or before September 28th; that in future a charge of £5 be made for the use of cattleyards for horse sales on the Showgrounds. The report was adopted. Messrs S. R. Lancaster, 1 almerston North, and Paul Hunter, liawke's Bay, wrote acknowledging their appointments as representatives of the Association for their respective districts. The latter intimated his intention of giving a donation of £2 2s for lady's hack, to be ridden by a lady in divided skirt, at the next Show. It was decided to thank Mr Hunter for his donation, and ask him for more definite conditions. Messrs Gray, W. Perry, D. McGregor, junr., and Cruickshank were appointed a committee to meet a subcommittee from the Wairarapa P. and A. Society to appoint a delegate to the Agricultural Executive of New Zealand. It was resolved to hold the general meetings of the committee for the
current year at 2 p.m. On the motion of Mr Hamper, it ivas decided to reinstate the classes \ for bottled fruits in the second schedule, as Mrs Holme?, of Mata- J tviwi, had intimated her intention of donating a- prize of £5 for these classes. Messrs A. E. Pearce, T. Porter, G. Mace and J. Cresswell were elected members of the Association.
