WAIRARAPA HORTICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY.
SPRING SHOW. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Spring Show of the Wairarapa Horticultural and Industrial Society was held in the Victoria Hall, Carterton, on Saturday afternoon and evening. The exhibits, though not so numerous as on former occasions, were nevertheless of a better quality, and everything in connection with the Show passed off very successfully. The tray-cloth exhibited by Miss Thomson, and which carried off first prize, is worthy of special mention, as is aho the handsome carvings which weve exhibited by Mrs H. Browne and Miss G. Deller. Another good exhibit was a hand-painted sofa cushion shown by Miss G. Brown. The attendance of the public in the afternoon was very good, and the hall was filled in the evening. A word ot praise is due to Mr J. Brown, tho Secretary, and his committee for the way they worked to make the Show the success it was. The following is a list of the prize-takers:— CLASS I. .
